RAPPER WILLY NORTHPOLE SIGNS DEAL WITH GRAMMY AWARD WINNER LUDACRIS RECORD LABEL DISTURBIRNG THA PEACE.
Atlanta, Georgia (July 5, 2007) Atlanta's Disturbing The Peace and Def Jam Records inks new artist Arizona based hip-hop artist Willy NorthPole. Having already joined forces with Disturbing The Peace forthcoming Compilation and earning a spot along side singer Shareefa on DJ Khaleds, "The Streets," off his album "We The Best."
"Willy NorthPole is what Hip Hop has a shortage of Real MC's a good one at that. His lyrics, personality, substance and swagger, a full package. When it comes to Willy just take a second to stop, look and listen, he’ll do the rest.” Says Lenny S, VP of A&R Def Jam Records.
Willy NorthPole, Southside Phoenix Arizona breed newest addition to DTP label,is definitely on the rise. Managed by Family Tree Entertainment out of New York, one of the leading entertainment management groups in the industry. With an impressive roster that includes, NAS, Nick Cannon, Xzibit. “Pound for Pound Willy is the leader of the next generation of rappers on the scene. Representing not just Phoenix, not just the West Coast…but the Family Tree & Disturbing Tha Peace future.” Says Michael “Blue” Williams, CEO of Family Tree Entertainment.
He first stepped on the music scene in 2004 with his diss track “Garbage Disposal.” In no time the track caught the ear of one of Arizona’s artist, Hot Rod. When he signed to 50 cents label G-Unit last year he asked Willy NorthPole to join him as his hype man. “My ego wouldn’t let me be somebody else’s under dog,” he says. “I felt like I had to get out there work really hard and do it myself.”
The hard work paid off when Phoenix Son caught the eye of one of DTP Record’s Exec. After listening to just a few tracks CEO Chaka ZULU had no choice but to sign Arizona’s great to Disturbing The Peace Label. “This artist, emcee has a hunger you can hear and he also has no fear, he is ready to put his state on his back.” Chaka Zulu
DTP Records.
The deal between label and artist was inked earlier this year and since then Willy has been on the grind, getting ready to change any misconceptions that Arizona has no streetz.
“It’s crazy that . People don’t believe Arizona got streetz,” he says. “But I lived it. It’s my responsibility to let the people know how it went down.” Willy NorthPole’s hypnotic “Body Marked Up,” is causing major talk on the streets right along with his highly anticipated solo debut, “Tha Connect,” slated for release before the end of the year.
